BIO

I was born in 1979 in Quincy, Massachusetts, and started painting seriously in 2006. Over the years, I’ve been drawn to all kinds of modern and contemporary artists working across different movements and mediums. Music and literature are big sources of inspiration for me too, and they find their way into the work in all sorts of ways.

When I’m painting, I’m not thinking about how it will be seen or received. I’m not trying to impress anyone. The process is for me. A way of working through ideas and seeing where they lead. Sometimes, something clicks and the piece feels right, but that’s not a performance moment. It’s quiet and personal. I’ve learned the hard way that chasing some imagined reaction or trying to make the work more “finished” for someone else’s eyes often ruins it. I’ve thrown out plenty of pieces because I pushed them past their own point of balance. So really, it’s not about perfection or approval, it’s about knowing when to step away, satisfied with what’s there, even if it’s imperfect, because it’s honest.
